Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when using Classity (the "Platform"), an educational platform designed to help schools manage student smartphone usage during school hours.

Classity is committed to protecting privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who We Are and Our Role

Classity provides a digital platform used by schools, students, parents, and educators to manage and limit smartphone usage during school activities, while maintaining essential communication between students and parents.

It is important to note that the educational institution determines the restrictive policies and schedules. Classity is a tool solely for enforcing these policies established by the school.

For the purposes of data protection laws, Classity acts as:

  • A Data Processor on behalf of schools for student-related data.
  • A Data Controller for limited administrative and operational data related to account management (such as school administrator accounts and billing-related contact details).

2. Types of Users

The Platform may be used by:

  • Students
  • Parents or Legal Guardians
  • Teachers and School Administrators

Each user type has different access rights and permissions within Classity.

3. Personal Data We Collect

Depending on the user type, Classity may collect the following categories of data:

Student Data:

  • Name or unique identifier provided by the school.
  • Class, schedule, and school-related information needed for policy enforcement.
  • Device-related technical data necessary to integrate with restrictions frameworks.

IMPORTANT: What We DO NOT Collect from Students

  • The Platform does not access, monitor, or store the content of calls, messages, photos, or personal communications.
  • The Platform does not collect or track student geolocation data.

Parent / Guardian Data:

  • Name.
  • Contact information (e.g., email address, phone number for SMS notifications).
  • Relationship to the student.

School Staff Data:

  • Name.
  • Professional contact details.
  • Role within the school.

4. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for use in an educational context and processes data relating to minors.

Schools using Classity are responsible for obtaining any legally required parental consent or authorization before registering students.

While Classity does not independently verify parental consent and relies on the school's representations, the Platform is designed to require active parental involvement: a student cannot create an account or access the Platform unless their parent or legal guardian has first registered and linked the student.

Responsibility for obtaining and maintaining valid parental consent remains with the school and/or the parent, and Classity does not assume independent legal responsibility for such consent.
